“After speaking about death and resurrection in his first letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle changes voice to proclaim the mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed! What is this mystery that Paul speaks about and how was it understood by the Fathers. In this lecture, Fr John will look at the Apostle’s apocalyptic reading of Scripture and, building upon his work on St Irenaeus and more recently St Gregory of Nyssa, explore how they understood our lives as a process of becoming human, finally through death, resurrection, and transformation.”
